STEAM on the Knoll
STEAM on the Knoll usually takes place in the spring. This event always has an overwhelmingly positive response. Hundreds of children and adults engage in a vast variety of science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics activities. Participants build Rube Goldberg Machines ringing a simple bell in intricate and complicated steps. Some design, build and launch parachutes carrying gummy bears from the second floor classrooms. Outside, students experiment with chemical reactions by shooting pop-rockets into the air. The entire night is organized and operated by Oak Knoll teachers and staff to engage the whole family, and is held early in the evening to include children of all ages.
