Parent Volunteer Opportunities
Each year, parents and grandparents volunteer at Oak Knoll – in the classroom, through the PTO, and through the MPAEF. It is this community involvement that, together with our talented teachers and staff, makes Oak Knoll such a special place.
Everyone is welcome to pitch in, and we encourage you to get involved! There are tasks available to fit every schedule, whether you have time for an hour here or there, or you want to take on a year-long committee lead job.
⚠️ Important Volunteer Requirements
All volunteers at Oak Knoll, including coaches, need to be registered (including state-required fingerprinting) before working with students. Learn more about what is required to volunteer and to register by visiting MPCSD Volunteer Requirements. To get started, complete the Volunteer Registration Form. If you completed this form already, then you don’t need to do it again. In most cases, this form (including the fingerprinting) only needs to be completed once and is good for the duration of your time at Oak Knoll! If you need financial assistance, please contact hr@mpcsd.org.
Three Main Ways to Volunteer
1. In the Classroom
At Back to School Night, you will learn about many different volunteer activities connected to your child's classroom, such as helping with instruction, chaperoning field trips, and hosting class parties.
If you wish to learn more, please contact your class Room Parent to find out about available opportunities.
2. With the PTO
The PTO engages in activities that enrich our school, including sponsoring community events (Fall Family Picnic, STEAM on the Knoll) and student events (Science Fair, Book Fair, Musicals).

The Menlo Park-Atherton Education Foundation is led by parent volunteers who raise funds to support innovation and excellence in art, technology, science, and wellness. Help support the foundation through events like the Spring Auction and the Schoolhouse Run!
